Ringing in the New Year - Birthing Angels Crafts

If it didn’t Bring you Joy,
Just Leave it Behind.
Let’s Ring in the New Year
With Good Things in Mind.
Let Every Bad Memory Go
That Brought Heartache and Pain.
And let’s Turn a New Leaf
With the Smell of New Rain.
Let’s Forget Past Mistakes
Making Amends for This Year.
Sending You These Greetings
To Bring you Hope and Cheer
Happy New Year!

Wishes From my Home to Yours - Birthing Angels Crafts

The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree:  the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.  ~Burton Hillis
Merry Christmas from our home to yours.
The house is quiet this early in the morning.  The tree is lit and I am waiting for the day to begin but I could not have the day begin without wishing you and your loved ones a blessed Merry Christmas.

Toy Doll Creativity - Birthing Angels Crafts

"When we recall Christmas past, we usually find that the simplest things -- not the great occasions -- give off the greatest glow of happiness."  - Bob Hope
My daughter, Marisa, took this picture of the toy doll I made for a friend of mind.  I loved making it because I am a kid at heart.  I used the doll pattern Emily Winfield Martin created, from A Black Apple, that was shared on the Martha Stewart Show.  The face is my own creation and was painted using some fabric pens and acrylic paint.  I just love the acrylic paint extender---it helps the paint glide on the surface so much easier so you have better control.  I added the socks and a hair felt flower as finishing touches.

A Joy of Christmas--Putting up the Christmas Tree - Birthing Angels Crafts

Christmas day is a day of joy and charity. May God make you very rich in both. - Phillips Brooks
My daughter, Marisa, took this picture of our Christmas tree.  I just love her picture taking creativity.  The tree is six feet tall---yet most of the ornaments are handmade---some by me and some by other creatives.  The paper ornaments my daughter made while in school have been kept and I put them on the tree every year, even though she protests.  The tree top is an angel (not shown in the picture) my daughter made in first grade.  It takes an entire day to put up our Christmas tree with all the ornaments---but I love it.

My husband knows I love snowman so he buys me one when he sees one that catches his eye---so snowman abound in our home.  I love my family, my home and my memories.  This Christmas, we have made and will make more memories that I will keep in my heart.  Take the time to enjoy the simple things in life---they are the most precious.

Doll Craft for Christmas Present - Birthing Angels Crafts

Little girls love dolls. They just don't love doll clothes. We've got four thousand dolls and ain't one of them got a stitch of clothes on.  - Jeff Foxworthy

Isn't that the truth?  Just like children play with the boxes instead of the toys!!  Right now, I am making a doll requested by a friend of mine.  It will be a Christmas present for a little girl so it has to be cute and special.  I will post a picture of the result once it is finished.

It is nice to know that my friend would rather buy from a crafter that a store.  Please support your local artists and crafters too.  We really do appreciate it.

Well, I better get back to work.

Repurpose Old Clock for Holiday Craft - Birthing Angels Crafts

"A clock struck out the hour of twelve, and the bird in the hedgerow was still singing as we marched out to the roadway, and followed our merry pipers home to town."
- Patrick MacGill
I was reading Kelly Rae Roberts blog on how she had decorated her home for the holidays and my inspiration took flight by viewing the cute holiday craft item made from an old clock.  We love to repurpose and use vintage items when possible---so this idea is perfect.  Try it and send me pictures of your creations.

Christmas Card Creativity with Apps - Birthing Angels Crafts

A daughter may outgrow your lap, but she will never outgrow your heart.  ~Author Unknown
I am so proud of my daughter Marisa.  She is very artistic and creative with so many art mediums.  Marisa created this picture of me using the Pixlromatic and Typoinsta camera apps on her ipad.  I tried it myself and used it with ease.  Try making your own Christmas cards using camera apps to get a unique, colorful and creative card.

Snowwoman with Snowflake Wings - Birthing Angels Crafts

"A snowflake is a winter's butterfly."  - Hero Arts
Here is my Snowwoman Angel with snowflake wings.  She joyfully welcomes winter and the warmth of family and friends.  Of course, she loves to wear her finery of pearls and trinkets to enjoy the holiday season.  I had so much fun creating her.
